Expectations for Tray Maddox Jr. in 2021-22

The Titans have the overall talent to compete near the top of the Big West. History shows that give coach Taylor a dynamic scoring guard and he can make lots of really good things happen. Fullerton has an experienced team coming back that can rise up and surprise a lot of people in the hunt of the Big West tournament bid.

Maddox isn’t going to surprise anyone this year, teams are going to expect him to get the ball in the open spaces and shoot a three or a drive to the basket and get some easy points. He doesn’t need a lot of space to score and when he gets going he can score in bunches. The guard is going to be one of the names fans and media members in the Big West are talking about for conference player of the year.

With his height of 6’6” and his repeatable release on his jump shot he is going to get a look in the NBA or the G-League. He is most likely going to have a long career overseas. The guard should easily lead the league in three-pointers attempted, made, and made per game. Maddox Jr. is likely going to be one of the top scorers in the league.

The Titans were hugely active in the transfer market and were able to add two proven stars to the team to pair with Maddox Jr.  Ej Anosike who was a star at Sacred Heart two seasons ago, before transferring to Tennessee last season. Anosike is a super senior who is using his last year of eligibility to try and get the Titans back to the NCAA tournament.

Fullerton was also fortunate to land another player who started at Grand Canyon then transferred to San Francisco in Damari Milstead. The former Don is going to help at the point guard position and provide a ton of experience in the backcourt.

Outside of these three, the Titans also have another star in the making in Latrell Wrightsell Jr.  The sophomore guard is one of the best free throw shooters in the entire country and should continue to up his game this season. Fullerton is in good hands
