Tennessee Basketball: Projected starting lineup and depth chart for 2021-22 season
By Matt Melton
Tennessee Basketball enters the 2021-22 college basketball season as one of the clear favorites in the SEC. Yes, even after a disappointing end to the 2020-21 campaign, the Volunteers have re-loaded now displaying one of the deepest rosters in the conference.
Tennessee finished the 2020-21 campaign with an 18-9 overall record concluding in a loss to Oregon State in the opening round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament. For a Volunteers team that you could argue underperformed a year ago, Tennessee has to replace a few notable players off last season’s team including Yves Pons, Keon Johnson, and Jaden Springer.
This could be easy however for a team that hit a home run in the offseason with their additions through the transfer portal, as well as a recruiting class that ranked top five nationally, and tops in the SEC according to the 247Sports Composite.
Head coach Rick Barnes will have plenty of talent and depth available for what should be an exciting team in Knoxville this season. However, how will he use this depth going forward?
Here is a look at the projected 2021-22 starting lineup for the Volunteers, as well as the depth options available for Tennessee Basketball at each position.
