462. . . . Jayhawks . 2. team

Kansas always seems to have a quality point guard to lead the offense each season. And while Marcus Garett wasn’t the greatest scorer in the world, but he had a claim of being the best perimeter defender in the country last season. He’s gone but was replaced late in the offseason by Remy Martin, a quality scorer that averaged around 20 ppg in the last two seasons at Arizona State.

Martin completes what arguably will be the strongest starting lineup among all NCAA Basketball teams. The frontcourt duo of Jalen Wilson and David McCormack is back after double-digit scoring seasons, along with sharpshooting wing Christian Braun. They also got a nice surprise with leading scorer and top-tier defender Ochai Agbaji electing to return after entering the NBA Draft process.

The quality and balance with this five makes the Jayhawks so good on both ends of the court and if Martin can successfully join the mix and become more efficient, this team will be very hard to defeat. And this doesn’t even include the pair of backcourt transfers in Joseph Yesufu (Drake) and 7th-year veteran Jalen Coleman-Lands (DePaul) that are more than capable of having an impact off the bench.

And with former D-II star Cam Martin providing depth at the center position and top-60 freshman KJ Adams and Zachary Clemence capable of contributing in the frontcourt as well, the Jayhawks can go legitimately 10-deep in their rotation without much drop-off.

Kansas always has really good teams but this version will have “national title or bust” aspirations this season.
