"“’Remember when’ is the lowest form of conversation.”"

Remember when Indiana Basketball last made the tournament? Remember when they last made a Final Four? Remember when the Hoosiers last won a National Championship? The answers to all three are shocking when you consider IU’s status amongst the CBB hierarchy (at least in its own head).

Frankly, I don’t want to type out the answers to those questions posed for fear of retaliation from Hoosiers who may ban me from their state, which would be absolutely devastating to my future Fourth of July prospects. In what other state can you drive on the highway for hours and only see the same Krazy Kaplan firework billboards littered everywhere?

Anyways, Indiana’s “blue blood” status is forever in jeopardy if Mike Woodson can’t turn the ship around rapidly in Bloomington. It’s do-or-die time for Trayce Jackson-Davis and company.

"“A wrong decision is better than indecision.”"

I’m not a mind reader, but I’m pretty sure this is what top prospect Emoni Bates’s thought process was regarding his recruiting process. The coveted recruit announced early on in his recruitment that he was committing to play for Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans.

Soon after, Bates decided to decommit from MSU and reopen his recruitment. He would wind up months later agreeing to play for Penny Hardaway’s Memphis Tigers.

Why did Bates declare so early to Michigan State only to end up enrolling at another school before his collegiate career even started? Well, if you ask Tony Soprano, it’s because corrections can be made to wrong decisions. Bates corrected his previous decision and will look to make some noise on the court this season after Memphis stole the headlines this summer.
