"“A grown man made a wager. He lost. He made another one – he lost again. End of story.”"

This is public plea number two. With the legalization of sports gambling in so many states recently, there are more angry people online than ever. Instead of just being mad at their own teams, said angry people now are mad at all the teams that they bet on who lose.

EJ Liddell and Kofi Cockburn were just two of the players who spoke up about the disgusting online hate they received following their teams’ tournament losses. With the way things are trending, this type of behavior isn’t going to go away and is likely to become more rampant in the coming years.

So please, stop tweeting hate at student-athletes for your losing picks or other deep-seated personal issues. It’s pathetic.

"“This isn’t painful. Getting shot is painful. Getting stabbed in the ribs is painful. This s**t isn’t painful. It’s empty… dead.”"

This one goes out to the teams with no hope, to begin with. To the Iowa State’s, Minnesota’s, DePaul’s, California’s, Vanderbilt’s, Boston College’s, and the others who aren’t even relevant enough to get a mention: I’m sorry.

Maybe things will turn around eventually. But for now, my advice is to try to enjoy the non-conference cupcake wins. Celebrate them like their marquee conference games.

As a Chicago Bears fan, myself, I just want to tell you it gets better. Just kidding, it doesn’t. A part of me dies every time the offense takes the field. Good luck to all the hopeless fans this season!
