10. Trevion Williams, Purdue Boilermakers

There was no dropoff or slowing down for Williams entering the 3rd year of his collegiate career. The junior managed to again elevate his game for the 2nd-consecutive season and lead the team in scoring and rebounding by wide margins. As has been the case with personnel at Purdue in previous years, frontcourt reliability is a big priority and Williams was able to comfortably live up to those standards.

Entering his senior season, the veteran is primed for another strong year. Williams will again lead a talented Boilermakers squad on the receiving end of national title caliber expectations. If they are to reach that level of success, it will be squarely on the shoulders of Williams continued efficiency and dominance in the paint on both ends of the floor.

9. Jabari Smith, Auburn Tigers

Head coach Bruce Pearl has possessed talent at every position since taking over the job at Auburn. However, this year it’s safe to say he boasts his best frontcourt group ever with the program. Led by freshman 5-star Jabari Smith, the Tigers are looking to quickly rebound from significant offseason departures to contend in the SEC this year.

Smith is the more mobile, self-creating offensive threat for Auburn this season compared to his new counterpart Walker Kessler. The best part for the Tigers this year is the freshman’s capability to put the ball on the floor in both half and full-court situations to open the offense for the rest of the team. Being able to nail pull-up 3s and comfortably hit longer shots without needing plays run for him is going to free up looks for the rest of Auburn.

Also a reliable interior threat in his own right, Smith is going to be able to play off Kessler’s like skillset to clog the paint on the defensive end and clean the glass. The Tigers have many pieces in place to make a run this year and will lean on their frontcourt stars to make it happen.
