2. Who is St. Bonaventure’s third-most important player?

Bernstein

I think it is obvious that St. Bonaventure is the most talented team in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Everyone also knows that Kyle Lofton and Osun Osunniyi are the two most important players for the Bonnies. I believe that Jalen Adaway is the next most important player on the roster because of his performance last season. He averaged 12.2 points per game and was named to the 2021 All-A10 Tournament team last season.

This is so tough because three or even four guys could lay claim to this title. I’ll say Jaren Holmes if only because his size, shooting, and defensive presence will be an important third weapon to account for. Welsh and Adaway deserve consideration and even Wake Forest transfer Quadry Adam could make a claim to Most Important in that the bench depth the Bonnies will have this year compared to last could be a difference-maker to an already championship-caliber team.

All apologies to Jalen Adaway (the glue that makes the Bonnies special) but the answer has to be Jaren Holmes after a season that deserved first-team All-Conference consideration. He led the team in scoring (14.4 ppg) during A-10 play and shot 45.6% from 3. Holmes gives Kyle Lofton the freedom to worry about playmaking rather than scoring, and if Lofton ever actually sits this season, Holmes can run the 2nd unit.
