As we walked to the corner of the room to film a series of rapid-fire questions with Hunter Dickinson, he grabbed the Big Ten championship trophy without saying a word. He held it the entire interview and was more than comfortable with all eyes on him during the process.
In his time at the podium, Dickinson elaborated on what it’s like playing in front of opposing fans.
Hunter Dickinson: "I don't mind being hated by opposing fans." He says the boos might even make him play better.

For the entirety of the day, Dickinson didn’t take the easy way out. He thrusted himself directly into the spotlight, embraced it, and put on a show. On the court, I anticipate he will do the same all season long. Opposing players, coaches, fans, and media may not like it, but Hunter Dickinson won’t care if they do.
The Big Ten hasn’t had a villain the likes of a Greyson Allen, JJ Redick type in a very long time. This year, Dickinson may be just that.
