Maryland Basketball Head Coach Mark Turgeon and the Maryland Terp’s received some very good news on Wednesday as one of the 2022 top targets, 6-10 Forward Bobi Klintman announced per his Instagram account that he would be heading to College Park.

Turgeon made Klintman a top priority throughout the recruiting process and made a recent trip to Kansas to watch him workout, as well as Assistant Danny Manning, who also recently in Kansas to watch Klintman, as well.

The highly skilled Klintman chose The Terp’s over Loyola (Chicago) and Rutgers. Kansas, Texas A&M, and Virginia. Klintman is originally from Sweden and moved to the US to play his high school ball at Sunrise Christian (Kansas). He is currently ranked 111 nationally in the class of 2022 rankings but is ranked a four-star recruit by most recruiting services. He also turned some heads at the U18 Nordic Cup playing for Sweden after averaging 13 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals in just 24 minutes per game.

Klintman in an interview with 247 Sports was asked why he choose Maryland the newest Terp commit had this to say.

"“I’m going to Maryland,” said Klintman. “I just feel like there was something special about that place. I watched the practice, I’ve been talking to the coaches for a while now and I just feel like what they are doing, they go into March Madness most every year, I just feel like it is a great fit for me. They have been successful with big wings like me. They had Kevin Huerter, they had Aaron Wiggins this past season, so I feel like it is a great fit for me.”"

He has size, athleticism, and shooting skills that make him an attractive player. He is still adjusting to the American game, but has incredible upside, as he figures to eventually play in the same role that Hakim Hart currently plays for the Terps. The Terp’s will no doubt have shooters, but now they have another weapon on the wing who can slash, pass or shoot the jumper.

Maryland has a couple of scholarships available in the 2022 recruiting class left, and likely will use them on at least one guard, as both Fatts Russell and Xavier Green are entering their last season of eligibility. There’s also a chance that they look for a center in case transfer Qudus Wahab goes pro after this year. But with Klintman now on board, the Terrapins are in good shape at the forward position.

Welcome To College Park Bobi!!!!
