There always seem to be a few conferences in the country that never get enough credit for having good teams. Horizon League Basketball is one of those leagues. The teams may be outmatched against some schools nationally but these schools will stay competitive and those at the top of the league are some of the best offensive and defensive teams in the country.

The Horizon League has had a team play in the final four and has won their fair share of big games. Even though the conference is not what it once was it is still competitive and does have its fair share of good teams.

In addition to the good teams, the Horizon League has had its share of great college players starting of course with Gordon Hayward and Norris Cole, and most recently Drew McDonald, Loudon Love, Bill Wampler, and Dikembe Dixson are just to name a few.  Those players are not as good as a current player for the Detroit Mercy Titans. Antoine Davis is one of the best players the Horizon has ever seen and heading into his senior year, he is looking to be the best player the league has ever seen.

The Titans have unfortunately not been good enough to make the NCAA tournament since Davis has been on campus but that has not stopped him from putting up great numbers.  He is the son of head coach Mike Davis and he gets the ball all the time in the offense and has, and will continue to win Detroit Mercy games on his own.

The Titans are a lot better this year and have an outside chance at making the NCAA tournament which would be fantastic for every fan of college basketball to watch Davis play as he is appointment viewing most nights.
