Projected Starters

Guard – Matt Bradley (Senior)

The crowned jewel of a busy offseason, Bradley gets his final collegiate season with the Aztecs after leading Cal with 18.0 points per game last season. Bradley hit a decent clip from outside, isn’t afraid to attack the lane, and will immediately become a lethal weapon at San Diego State, replacing a good chunk of the production lost from Mitchell and Schakel.

Guard – Trey Pulliam (Senior)

Pulliam wasn’t exactly an offensive weapon last season, but the former JUCO star has been an effective leader of this Aztecs offense and defense these last two seasons. He ranked atop the MWC in assist-to-turnover ratio last year, averaged 7.3 points and 3.5 assists. If he can work on his perimeter shooting and take a step forward, he’ll be a real weapon all around the court.

Guard – Adam Seiko (Senior)

Seiko is a combo guard who shined in brief opportunities last season, though his chances for success will certainly grow this year. He’ll be thrown into more chances this year, hoping to build on last year’s 34% rate from outside. Could he be another guard to really explode once thrust into a starting role?

Forward – Aguek Arop (Senior)

Arop began last season in the starting lineup before seeing less and less opportunity as the season progressed. Now a senior, he’ll look to build on last season (4.2 ppg, 2.3 rpg) as a big that can play all over the court, especially on defense.

Forward – Nathan Mensah (Senior)

Almost certainly, Mensah is the best player returning for the Aztecs, putting up solid numbers (8.1 ppg, 6.1 rpg) and developing into the big this program needs on both sides of the court. Mensah’s rebounding and block numbers were solid last season, and he should develop into one of the Aztec’s primary options offensively, while his work on the defensive end has already been extraordinary.
