Wings and Forwards

Senior Eric Williams will be leaned on heavily by Altman as a returning starter of the Sweet 16 team. Williams is a plus defender who is also capable on the offensive end. He shot 34.8% from 3-point range last season and averaged six rebounds as well. Williams’ length bolsters the Ducks’ defense and allows for a switchable defender on the perimeter.

Quincy Guerrier is a similar well-rounded piece as Williams, making the two a great pair or ideal substitutions for each other because of that interchangeability. Guerrier comes to Oregon after two years at Syracuse. If the ‘Cuse pitstop didn’t tip you off, he’s a long and capable defender that knows how to cause mayhem in a zone. His 6-foot-8 length makes him a solid shot-blocker and potent rebounder. With Guerrier and Williams, Altman has the ability to play small if wishes and has done so in the past.

Late transfer Ethan Butler is an interesting piece as well, serving as a top-flight defender with 6-foot-6 length and a 7-foot wingspan, he has the ability to guard the perimeter and help inside. The Canadian lost his ability to gain scouts’ attention last season due to COVID cancellations and his home country shutting down for the most part. He’ll likely play minimal minutes early and take this year to become more familiar with the college game and the system.

Additional depth is added by Lok Wur, who played 11 games for the Ducks last year. He’s another solid defender who presents great shot-blocking abilities and added help in clogging lanes. Soares could also play some minutes at the wing position.
