Which transfer guard has the best season? Remy Martin, Marcus Carr, or James Akinjo?

I answered a question similar to this in a roundtable that included Malik Curry and I chose Curry in that situation. In this one, I’m going to go with Akinjo.

Martin and Carr are fantastic and decorated guards that can light up a box score on any given night. With the talent surrounding both guards, especially within their own backcourts, those two may not be relied on to score 20 points or more a game.

With the recent news of former Top-40 recruit Langston Love out for the season with a torn ACL, this puts more pressure on the well-traveled Akinjo, but also more opportunities to score.

Akinjo has had success at every stop, with earning Big East Freshman of the Year at Georgetown and leading Arizona in scoring last year.

The status of Fairmont State transfer guard Dale Bonner is unclear, after averaging 21.1 points on 43.7% three-point shooting last year and whether he will be eligible to suit up for Baylor this year.

Akinjo will be surrounded by the best supporting cast he has had in his collegiate career and will flourish. I still believe Martin and Carr are massive impacts and if Kansas or Texas makes the final four, those two will be the reason why.

From a statistical standpoint and how much is needed out of, I believe Akinjo is given consistently, the most shots out of the three and it is well documented he is not afraid to shoot.
