No. 14 – Fordham Rams

The Kyle Neptune era has officially arrived in the Bronx. This will be a learning experience for the Fordham Rams as they were led under Coach Jeff Neubauer since 2015 and will be looking to rebuild for the future.

The 2021-22 Rams will have to tackle chemistry challenges as they have essentially a newer team this season. Fordham will have eight newcomers entering the program this season. Antonio Daye (FIU), D.J. Gordon (Penn State), Patrick Kelly (Penn State), Darius Quisenberry (Youngstown State), Antrell Charlton (JUCO), Rostyslav Novitskyi (JUCO), Ahmad Harrison, Abdou Tsimbila (Penn State) have been brought in under Coach Neptune’s staff and will look to make an immediate impact.

The Rams will also have to rely on new players to the rotation to fill in for players who transferred out of the program. For example, Chuba Ohams will see an increase in minutes this season at the forward position. The Rams frontcourt last season consisted of Ohams and Joel Soriano. Joel Soriano ranked third in the Atlantic 10 conference in rebounding and will be a solid addition to the St. John’s Red Storm roster.

The Rams will also be relying on Darius Quisenberry, Kyle Rose, and John Navarro at the guard positions to replace Chris Austin and Ty Perry. Austin will join Portland after leading the Rams in scoring last season and being named the MVP. Perry will be joining Buffalo after averaging 7.5 points per game last season with Fordham.

No. 13 – George Washington Colonials

It will be an exciting season for the Colonials, who coach Jamion Christian leads. Last season, the program dealt with injuries, COVID positives, and a game canceled due to the United States Capitol attack on January 6th.

The Colonials have a lot of names to watch this season, including Ricky Lindo Jr., who spent a significant amount of last year with an injury. He started all seven games he appeared in last season and reached double figures five times. Lindo averaged 11.4 points and 10.7 rebounds in 34.9 minutes per game. We can expect the D.C. native to break out this season.

George Washington has a lot of new additions to the program via the transfer portal Joe Bamisille (Virginia Tech), Brendan Adams (UConn), Ire Lee (Arizona), Bryan Knapp (Cornell), and Qwanzi Samuels (FGCU).

This team is still a few years away from being at the top half of the conference; however, the team can be good for the future of the Atlantic 10.
