Key reserves

G Carter Whitt, Freshman

Carter Whitt gets a do-over on his freshman season after joining the program mid-year, matching moments of success with moments of young frustration. Whitt averaged 4.7 points and 2.7 assists per game, struggling with keeping control of the ball as he turned it over 52 times, ranking in 17th in the conference despite playing less time than many of the others who ranked highly. He was a top 10 point guard in his class, though, and will figure it out.

G Robert McCray, Freshman

Robert McCray is ranked as the No.11 combo guard in his class by 247 Sports. He’s big for a guard, while also having strong athleticism. The coaching staff will hold his feet to the fire early.

F Khadim Sy, Graduate Student

Khadim Sy is on to his fourth school, including third in a major conference. His first was Virginia Tech, so welcome back to the ACC, Sy! He spent the past two seasons with Ole Miss, but was a non-factor last season, averaging 3.1 points and 1.9 rebounds per game off the bench. If nothing else, he’ll provide a veteran presence.

F Tariq Ingraham, Redshirt Sophomore

Tariq Ingraham has been snake-bitten by injuries, missing his freshman season with a torn Achilles and missing all but two games last season. Therefore, expecting anything from Ingraham is a stretch. But the former three-star recruit scored 19 points and 5 rebounds in one of his only collegiate games, so the potential is there.
