The Rhode Island Rams will host the Boston College Eagles in an exciting New England non-conference rivalry.

TV schedule: Wednesday, November 17, 6:00 pm ET. CBS Sports Network

Arena: Ryan Center in Kingston, Rhode Island

A non-conference rivalry in New England has been brewing the last couple of seasons between the Boston College Eagles and the Rhode Island Rams.

Last season these two teams met at Mohegan Sun; Boston College came away with the 69-64 victory. However, the last time the Eagles visited the Rams at the Ryan Center, they were defeated 67-65 on January 29, 2010.

Boston College enters this matchup with a 3-0 record for the first time since the 2017-18 season. They already have non-conference wins over Dartmouth, Holy Cross, and Fairfield. Brothers Demarr and Makai Ashton-Langford lead the Eagles. Ashton-Langford is a graduate student transfer from Providence. His younger brother Demarr is only a sophomore but has been very active this season as he leads the team averaging 17.3 points per game across three games.

Rhode Island enters this game with a 2-0 record with wins over Boston University and Bryant. The Rams rank second in the nation behind Memphis in blocked shots per game through the first week of the college basketball season. They had 12 blocks last time against Bryant and ten blocked shots in the season opener against Boston University.

Brothers Makhi and Makhel Mitchell currently lead the Rams. Makhel currently leads the way with seven blocks through the first two games and ranks 15th in the nation. Although Makhi has only three blocks so far this season, he is averaging 23.5 minutes per game. This is great to see for the Rams’ frontcourt after Makhi only played seven games last season due to season-ending knee surgery.
