Each March, everyone looks forward to the NCAA Tournament. Even if your team is having a terrible year and won’t make an impact in March Madness, the best postseason in all of sports provides excitement, drama, and entertainment that nearly all can find enjoyable. Last year’s NCAA Tournament was no different, and if these first few weeks of the season are any indication then we’re in for another sweet one in 2022.

These first two weeks of college basketball have included some impressive victories, some wild moments, and some standout performances. It’s still far too early to know exactly what to expect, especially from teams dealing with injuries or inconsistent play, but that doesn’t mean these weeks haven’t been provided. Some teams have seen their stock rise with impressive wins while others have stumbled, falling to inferior opponents or making foolish mistakes down the stretch in their games.

The drama of the early season will only get more interesting as we reach December and the subsequent months of play. This second week of the season has seen some unexpected results from the Gavitt Tip-Off Games, and some intriguing matchups in the early season holiday tournaments, like the Charleston Classic. A number of teams are already making a positive impact with their early play, and we’re going to point out a few of those teams right here.

We’re going to look closely at five teams from this past week that could be considered winners, especially in regards to bracketology. There were certainly more than five teams that made a positive impact on their standing this week, but each of these five went above and beyond and could certainly feel the impact of this week on Selection Sunday. However, it’s important to remember that we are still in November; there’s a lot of basketball left to be played. Let’s just get right into running through these five teams.
