Ranking the freshman seasons of former number one high school recruits: 25. Harry Giles

Freshman stats: 3.9 ppg, 3.9 rbg, 57.7 fg%

There were a ton of red flags surrounding Harry Giles.

Well before he made his way to a college campus, the extremely talented big man missed a bunch of games in high school. During his sophomore year at Wesleyan Christian Academy high school, Giles was forced to miss the entire year.

In his final year, Giles tore his ACL. Still, his talent was so good, that he was considered the best high school prospect in the nation. But while Duke was unbelievably happy when they originally signed him, they were left regretting the decision the moment the ink dried.

Giles missed over a month and a half of the season to begin the year due to surgery on his knee. Once he got healthy, Giles began putting very pedestrian numbers. In 26 games, Giles averaged 3.9 points and 3.8 boards. His mobility appeared compromised for most of the year and his confidence was never quite the same. All in all, Giles was horrific as the number one high school prospect.
