Bottom Half of the Bracket Predictions

Syracuse Orange vs VCU Rams

This one has a chance to be low-scoring. VCU is one of the better defensive teams in the country and they are not allowing much on the offensive end of the floor. In the last game for the Rams, they allowed 37 total points to Vanderbilt. In the win VCU only scored 47.

VCU gets it done on defense and Syracuse may not allow many points either due to their 2-3 zone. The Rams already have a ton of trouble scoring and the zone defense is going to give them all kinds of problems. Buddy Boeheim should be able to hit enough shots for Syracuse to win this game, but they are not going to be able to score at the rim.

Syracuse wins a tight one 50-40

Baylor Bears vs Arizona State Sun Devils

The defending National Champion Baylor is likely not going to have much resistance in this game. Arizona State is a team who came into last season with a ton of hype but underachieved and has only been so-so at this point in the year. The Sun Devils do always seem to play their best when they are playing one of the nation’s best teams, but Baylor has so much and they can still shoot, they can still play defense and they protect the rim and rebound like crazy.

The Sun Devils don’t have much of an answer for the Bears and Baylor cruises to an easy victory 85-58
