After a 9-0 start to the season, No. 12 ranked Arkansas travels to Oklahoma for their toughest test yet.
When: Saturday, December 11 at 1:30 pm ET on TBD
Location: Bank of Oklahoma Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma
After a perfect 9-0 start to the 2021-22 season, Eric Musselman’s Razorbacks travel to Tulsa to take on the Sooners in what will be their first true road game of the season.
Oklahoma comes into this contest coming off a 66-62 overtime loss to Butler at home on Tuesday. In what was the Sooners’ first loss in Norman this season, Oklahoma was out-rebounded 43-30 in the contest by the Bulldogs, as well as struggling at times from three-point range shooting 9-for-31.
The Sooners sit at 7-2 on the year and are averaging 74.1 PPG offensively, as well as allowing 60.9 PPG to opponents. A team that is in year No. 1 under new head coach Porter Moser, the Sooners are led by Eastern Washington transfer Tanner Groves (14.9 PPG, 6.2 RPG), as well as many other key contributors including the returning Umoja Gibson, Jalen Hill, and Elijah Harkless, as well as Duke transfer Jordan Goldwire.
Arkansas on the other hand comes to Tulsa ranked as the No. 12 team in the country, and is coming off a 86-66 win over Charlotte on Tuesday. An impressive showing from the Razorbacks, Arkansas out-rebounded the 49ers 41-21 in the contest, while also shooting an impressive 53.1% from the field.
As mentioned previously, the Razorbacks sit at an undefeated 9-0 on the year and are averaging 83.3 PPG while allowing 67.2 PPG to opponents. Leading the Razorbacks offensively is leading scorer JD Notae (18.7 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 3.4 APG, 3 SPG), while other offseason transfers such as Au’Diese Toney and Chris Lykes also average in double-figures.
This will undoubtedly be the Razorbacks’ toughest test yet this season in what will be Arkansas’ first true road game of the season. This game could go either way, but the Razorbacks should leave Tulsa with a close road win.
Prediction: Oklahoma 73, Arkansas 76
