The season has been drastically affected by the national pandemic and various COVID pauses in recent weeks, but we have made it to the New Year and the best NCAA Basketball is ahead. Conference play really gets going this week and in the coming months.

We’ve seen big plays, crazy game endings, and solid performances from nearly every corner of the NCAA Basketball world. We’ve also seen how some of these teams have responded to adversity this season, with COVID and injuries mangling these rosters and schedules this season.

We’re now into January and conference play, but there’s still over half a season remaining. When you consider the COVID pauses and other ailments and injuries, it may still be soon to know exactly what some of these teams are capable of.

It’s easy to harshly judge a team after a loss or sing their praises after a big win, but these teams have played anywhere from nine to thirteen games at this point. Judgments can be made, but March Madness is still weeks away and there’s plenty of time for things to turn around.

Using the information we have and the results we’ve seen these last few weeks, we’ll be putting together this week’s edition ranking the top 25 teams in the nation. This series has been ongoing on a weekly basis here on Busting Brackets, but once again these will just be my own rankings. There are a number of very talented teams in college basketball this season, but only the top 25 have their chance in the spotlight. Let’s not waste any more time and get right into our deep dive into these teams.
