When it comes to true point guards in the 2023 NCAA Basketball recruiting class, 6’4 playmaker Marvel Allen is one of the best among them. From West Palm Beach in the state of Florida, Allen is listed as a five-star prospect according to 247sportsComposite, as well as a consensus top-30 prospect overall.
Considered to be one of the better pure scorers in the class, Allen should be viewed as a “score first” type of point guard. But his passing and decision-making have been improving at the high school level, which bodes well for his NCAA Basketball future when it comes to running an offense. He’s also someone that can play well with another point guard, something more and more college coaches have been doing as of late.
Allen has just about everything else a five-star prospect would need, including the size, athleticism, scoring ability, and overall feel for the game that makes him a must-have prospect. And we now know which power conference programs are in the running to land him.
