The Wisconsin Badgers look to continue their strong play this season when they play the Iowa Hawkeyes at home on Thursday.

The badgers look to improve their resume after winning the Maui tournament and beating number three Purdue. Currently, Wisconsin is 11-2 on the season. The badger’s two losses have come against very good teams in Providence and Ohio State. Leading scorer Johnny Davis has been looking like an All-American this season. Davis has averaged 22 points per game on 45 percent shooting.

In the win against Purdue, Davis had a career-high 37 points on 54 percent shooting.  Additionally, Davis had an insane 14 rebounds in the win. On the year, Davis is averaging a very solid seven rebounds per game. Wisconsin defense has been pretty solid this season as they are only allowing 63 points per game (57th in the nation).

The Iowa Hawkeyes are looking for their first real resume win this season in this matchup. Although the Hawkeyes are a solid 11-3 to start off the season, they have yet to win a game against a quality opponent. The Hawkeyes have lost to Purdue, Iowa State, and a very solid Illinois team this season. The hawkeye’s best victory came against a somewhat good Maryland team.

Iowa’s Keegan Murray has been looking like he has NBA potential this season. Murray leads the nation in scoring by averaging 24 points per game on 59 percent shooting.  Murray is coming off a game where he scored 35 points on 66 percent shooting for the floor.  Iowa is second in the nation in scoring per game with 87.4 points per game.

This in-conference matchup will be decided by the two stars of both teams. Additionally, this match-up will be decided by Iowa’s offense and Wisconsin’s defense. Although Iowa’s offense will make it a close battle, Wisconsin will come out with the victory on Thursday behind the play of Johnny Davis.

Prediction: Wisconsin 75, Iowa 70
