The Oregon Ducks defeated the UCLA Bruins 84-81 in overtime. The ducks came into this game with a last-second win over Oregon State.  The ducks came into this game with losses against BYU, Saint Mary, Houston, Arizona State, Stanford, and Baylor. Although none of those losses were bad losses, the season was going downhill, as they had no marquee wins and six losses through 16 games.

The Ducks did run into some covid issues this season, as they postponed three games already this season. The Bruins came into this game as the third-best team in the country. UCLA was 10-1 on the season before this game. Their best win came against Villanova. The lone loss on the season came to Gonzaga.

The Bruins did run into some covid issues this season as they canceled two games and postponed four games. The ducks nearly lost this game in regulation. With less than 30 seconds to go, the Ducks turned the ball over up two. UCLA ended up tying the game.

Oregon still had a chance to win it in regulation but Will Richardson missed a game-winning three-point shot in regulation. The ducks won in overtime after being in a similar situation and not turning the ball over. Despite Oregon not turning the ball over, UCLA did have a chance to send it to double overtime. Johnny Juzang missed a game-tying three as time expired. UCLA had a chance to tie it in overtime because Richardson missed one of two free throws after getting fouled.
