NCAA Basketball conference play is in full swing and after about two weeks many of the teams who were on a Covid pause are starting to play again. The season is a full go and there are only nine weeks to go until the NCAA tournament.

Those nine weeks will obviously give us a clearer picture as to who is going to make the NCAA tournament and who is going to have a chance to make a deep run in the NCAA tournament. Teams from outside of power five leagues are going to have a great chance to make a deep run in the tournament this season.

Gonzaga is obviously the first team that comes to mind for mostly everyone when they associate a mid-major school making a deep run into March. Then it comes down to whether you think of the American Athletic Conference as a power league or a mid-major, as one of those teams is usually ready for a second weekend run every season.

Outside of Gonzaga and the teams from the American there are a handful of different teams every year that have a roster that can make a deep run into March. This year is going to be more of the same but the teams who are ready to make a run are vastly different than they have been in the past. This year Colorado State and Loyola Chicago are teams who are likely going to make a run to the second weekend of the NCAA tournament. It would be a huge surprise to everyone if they didn’t.

That will be the subject of this weeks Buy or Sell. Each of the teams listed below are teams who are older and have the best team in their conference. Most of these teams all have a signature win and all are in conferences where they should win enough games with enough quality wins to keep them off the bubble.

Just to recap a rating of buy is a team I believe has enough to make a run to the second weekend of the NCAA tournament and potentially farther. A rating of sell is a team that will likely make the tournament but doesn’t have enough to make the second weekend of the NCAA tournament.
