Notre Dame Basketball: Takeaways from big road win over Louisville
Dane Goodwin continues double-figure scoring streak
Dane Goodwin scored 13 points in the win over Louisville on Saturday in front of a sold-out crowd. Goodwin has now scored in double figures in all 18 games of the year. This is an impressive stat that just shows how consistent and how good of a player Dane Goodwin really is overall for Notre Dame. Without Goodwin, it is hard to picture Notre Dame having a winning record in conference play, or overall this season.
The Upper Arlington Ohio native is not just a three-point shooter either. He shoots it well from three but he also has one of the best mid-range games in the country. You really are going to have a hard time finding a better player in the college game who has a better mid-range game than Dane Goodwin. Over the years Goodwin really has expanded his game to take the ball more to the rim and not be afraid when it comes to backing down and posting up bigger opponents either.
Truly believe that if Goodwin played for a team with more recognition like a Duke, North Carolina, or even a Florida State you would hear his name being mentioned more in the ACC Player of the Year conversation. I am not saying he deserves to win it, but think his name needs to be included more with the better players in the ACC.
