The NCAA Basketball Tournament is almost here and this season it appears that there may be some glaring omissions from the field. Some of those omissions are teams that fans are very used to seeing in the NCAA tournament and who have had a lot of recent success in the NCAA tournament as well. These teams are going through some severe rebuilding and are in great danger of not making the NCAA tournament.

This week on the buy and sell I am going to examine how these teams and their resumes stack up against the rest of the potential field. Keep in mind it is almost February, so time is running out for these teams, as most of the tournament-quality teams already have very established resumes.

There are going to be the cynics who are going to say this team will get in because of the name on the front of their jersey and that very well may be the case as it has happened before, that doesn’t mean that team is worthy of a tournament bid or deserves one. Some of these teams will get in because the committee must find 68 teams to fill the field.

To recap each team will be given a rating of buy or sell. A rating of “buy” means I think that the team can do enough or will do enough to find their way into the tournament. A rating of “sell” means that team is not going to do enough to find themselves in the tournament. Obviously, these are subject to change and likely to change. The teams discussed in this week’s buy or sell are below.
