NCAA Basketball top 25 power rankings: UCLA and Kentucky rise, Kansas falls
By Joey Loose
Every passing week gets us closer to the greatest postseason tournament in American sports. The calendar still reads January, but we’ve seen our fair share of excitement, whether that be amazing performances, thrilling buzzer-beaters, and everything in between. Through injury, illness, weather, and the pandemic, this NCAA Basketball season keeps trucking along and really delivering memorable moments and great plays.
With February just days away, the march towards March Madness is really coming to a head. Conference play has progressed over the last month and we’ve seen how some of these great teams have handled themselves. Leagues like the Big East and SEC have seen some of their best teams look awful at times, while mid-majors across the nation know that one slip-up could evaporate their hopes of postseason glory. Nobody is perfect, certainly not this season, and it’ll be interesting to see how these teams in various leagues keep jockeying for position and standing, especially as the Selection Committee pays closer attention.
Amidst the chaos, we’ve done our best to put together this week’s edition of the top 25 rankings, which seemingly gets harder with each passing week. Ranked teams will continue to beat each other up, but we’ve done our best to properly highlight the 25 best teams at the current time.
Once again, these are my own rankings and they can certainly change drastically on a week to week basis, especially closer to the bottom. There were a number of teams considered that weren’t included in the rankings, but for now let’s get right into these teams, starting at the bottom and working towards that familiar face at #1.
