Indiana lost a chance for a marquee win against Illinois because of three-point struggles and not being able to guard the Illini stars.

The Hoosiers lost to Illinois by 17. The final score was 74-57. Indiana lost by not being able to stop Trent Frazier, Kofi Cockburn. Additionally, Indiana was unable to make their threes. Frazier ended up with 23 points on 72 percent shooting from the floor. Cockburn ended up with 17 points on 46 percent shooting.

Indiana was able to stop Cockburn early on in the game. The player of the year candidate only had two points midway through the first half. Cockburn was mostly ineffective in the first half. This was especially surprising considering Trayce Jackson Davis got into foul trouble early in the game.

In the second half, Cockburn was able to play much better. It seemed like no one could stop him during the later stages of the second half. His success in the post made it impossible for Indiana to come back in the second half.

Trent Frazier won his match-up against Race Thompson in this game. Frazier was able to beat him off the perimeter during dribble drives. The Illini senior was also able to make a couple of threes in this match-up.  Frazier made 3 of his 6 attempted threes in this matchup.

Indiana struggled from three in this match-up. Overall, the Hoosiers shot 3 of 13 from the three-point line. That is 23 percent from three.  Race Thompson went 0 for 3 from three in this match-up. It might be smart to not have him around the three-point line during offensive sets, as he is shooting 24 percent from three on the year.
