Syracuse Basketball: Orange roll over Louisville in blowout fashion

It was never close really, as Syracuse Basketball easily dispatches the Louisville Cardinals in an ACC clash.

Syracuse Basketball picks up a huge win at home against the Louisville Cardinals, 92 to 69 was the final score. Syracuse played a well-balanced game at both ends that the Cardinals wouldn’t be able to come from. The Orange will now move to 12-11 on the season, now on a three-game win streak, and are now sitting eighth overall in the ACC standings. As for the Cardinals, they will fall to 11-12 on the season, now sitting on a five-game losing streak, and fall to tenth place overall in the ACC.

Overall View of the Game

Syracuse came out strong with a well-balanced offense and defense overall, they took control of the matchup early, leading 43-26 at the half. The Cardinals couldn’t recover in the second half of the game, as the Orange kept their foot on the gas pedal and continued to dominate the game till the very end.

Jim Boeheim’s Orange played a physical game till the end and did not let Louisville have a chance to take the game over from the jump. Rebounding, three-point shooting, and free throws all played a factor in the Orange victory over the Cardinals.

Players of the Game

Buddy Boeheim and Jesse Edwards both dropped 19 apiece against Louisville. Edwards shot perfectly from the field, going nine for eleven, and contributing to the rebounding column with eight rebounds for the game. Boeheim would shoot five of nine from behind the arc, adding five assists, and a steal to his stats for the night. Both players had an incredible performance overall for Syracuse, with Joseph Girard III putting up 15 points, four assists, and three rebounds to contribute to the Orange big victory overall.

For the Syracuse Orange, the head to Boston College to take on the Eagles on Tuesday at 8pm eastern time on the ACC Network. As for the Louisville Cardinals, they will head to Notre Dame next to take on the Fighting Irish on Wednesday at 7pm eastern time on ESPNU.
