Syracuse Basketball: Orange escape Boston College to make it 4 straight wins

Syracuse Basketball gets its fourth straight victory, beating Boston College in the final moments.

Syracuse Basketball extends the winning streak to four and adds another win the win column after they get a nine-point victory over the Boston College Eagles, 73-64. This game would come down to final seconds, but the Orange would seal the victory after two trips to the free-throw line and a huge stop at the end of the game.

The Orange advance to 13-11 on the season, moving up to seventh in the ACC Conference, while Boston College will lose its second straight game, moving to 9-13 on the season and sitting five spots ahead of last place in the ACC Conference.

Players of the Game

Cole Swider would be the top man for the Syracuse Orange, after having put up 21 points, and eight rebounds against the Eagles. Swider looked hot from behind the three-point arc and hit all four of his free throws as well. He would also make two of the four free throw that would help the Orange seal the victory in the closing seconds of the game.

Joseph Girard III would also have himself a night, finishing with 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists. He would go eight of eight from the free throw line as well, including hitting the final two free throws that would end the game for the Orange. Both players both had an incredible game against Boston College, stepping up in the final minutes to carry the Orange to the victory, we will have to see if their performance carries over to the next game.

Buddy Boeheim would also contribute as well, putting up 14 points, and six rebounds. He had some trouble finding the basket early on in the game, as he would finish shooting two of nine from the three-point mark and going six of 19 from the field overall. Rough night for most of the starters, however, they were able to pull it together at the end to get the win.

Next Game

Syracuse (13-11) is back on the road again, as they head to Virginia to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies (14-10) at 6 pm eastern time on ESPN 2. Both teams are on a four-game win streak and will look to extend their streaks and continue to push as we move closer to the end of the season.

As for the Boston College Eagles (9-13), they will be at home as they face the number seven ranked team in the nation, as they take on the Duke Blue Devils (19-4) at 5 pm eastern time on the ACC Network.
