
Kentucky Basketball has been one of the hottest teams in the country over the last month. John The first key for the Calipari’s squad is 20-4, have won 13 of their last 15 and now is ranked No. 5 in the country they are staring down the barrel of a possible No. 1 seed as we head into March.
Since being ranked 21st the week before Christmas, the Wildcats have climbed 16 spots thanks in part to a 28-point win over Tennessee and an 18-point win over No. 5 Kansas to finish out the month of January.
The Wildcats have lost just twice since the new year, both on the road, to No. 21 LSU and at No. 2 Auburn. Since then, Kentucky has been methodically steamrolling opponents, scoring an average of 78.4 points per game and surrendering just 69. However, the stretch hasn’t been without some adversity, both guards TytY Washington and Sahvir Wheeler missed some time with injuries, leaving some to wonder if reclassified freshman Shaedon Sharpe would see some action, he has not.
Everyone is back healthy and takes on a Florida team that has struggled to find its footing this season in the SEC. At times the Gators (16-8, 6-5) have looked very good under head coach Mike White, like beating Florida State and Ohio State early on. But they have also looked bad, like losing to Texas Southern and by 16 at Ole Miss.
