Both Indiana and Rutgers come into this matchup on the bubble and need a win to boost their respective odds of making the NCAA Tournament.

Indiana goes into this game with a record of 18-10. Their biggest win on the season came against Purdue. Their ten losses are against Ohio State, Northwestern, Illinois, Michigan State, Penn State, Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin (2x),  and Syracuse.

Offensively, the Hoosiers are led by Trayce Jackson Davis. Davis is averaging 17 points per game on 57 percent shooting. Indiana has one of the better defenses in the country. Opposing team shooting percentage against Indiana is 38 percent shooting from the field. That is good for 11th in the country.

This game is a must-win for both teams. Indiana goes into this game needing one more win to feel comfortable about getting an at-large bid in the NCAA tournament. While they could beat Purdue on Saturday, Rutgers is the easier opponent. Additionally, Indiana has played significantly better at home than on the road.

Rutgers goes into this game needing one or two more wins to have a very solid case to be in the NCAA tournament. Considering the fact that their other game is against a very bad Penn State, Rutgers should treat this game as a game that can all but assure their at large tournament bids hopes.

This game will be a defensive showdown. Both teams will struggle to score points in this game. Indiana’s strong defense will lead them to a win. Xavier Johnson and company will be able to stop Ron Harper Jr.
