North Carolina at Duke: 2021-22 college basketball game preview, TV schedule
Will Duke get the win in Mike Krzyzewski’s final game in Cameron Indoor Stadium or can North Carolina pull off the upset?
TV schedule: Saturday, March 5 — 6 p.m., ESPN
Arena: Cameron Indoor Stadium — Durham, NC
The greatest rivalry in college sports returns for a legendary matchup on Saturday — Mike Krzyzewski’s final game as the Head Coach at Duke in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Most of the coverage in the days and weeks leading up to this game has focused on Coach K…as it should. Krzyzewski is the winningest coach in the history of college basketball with nearly 1,200 career victories. He is tied with John Wooden for the most Final Four appearances by any Division I head coach and has five national championships, which is second only to Wooden.
And by the way, he almost single-handedly rebuilt USA Basketball while simultaneously building and running what is currently the most powerful brand in college basketball. So yes, he’s getting all of the attention. He’s earned it.
History
Duke is 50-46 against North Carolina under Coach K and 51-49 against the Tar Heels in the last 100 games. UNC leads the all-time series 141-115.
The Blue Devils won by 20 points in their first meeting on Feb. 5 in Chapel Hill. That said, history suggests that prior results or even current season standings are far from consistent predictors in this rivalry.
