By Tyler Cronin
Transfer of the Year: Foster Loyer, Davidson – 20 votes
Davonte Gaines, George Mason – 3
Joe Bamisile, GW – 2
1 vote each: D’Shawn Schwartz, George Mason; Ejike Obinna, St. Joe’s; Toumani Camara, Dayton; Darius Quisenberry, Fordham
Loyer joined a team in desperate need of a point guard and led them to a regular-season title. Davidson had not brought in a transfer player in over a half-decade but the former Michigan St starter turned out to be the perfect missing piece.
Glue Guy of the Year: Fred Thatch Jr, SLU – 8 votes
Yuri Collins, SLU – 3
Davonte Gaines, George Mason – 3
Vince Williams Jr, VCU – 2
Foster Loyer, Davidson – 2
1 vote each: Jayden Nunn, VCU; Malachi Smith, Dayton; Kyle Lofton, St. Bonaventure; Marten Linssen, SLU; Jaren Holmes, St. Bonaventure; Grant Huffman, Davidson; Josh Colon-Navarro, Fordham; Michael Jones, Davidson; Sam Mennenga, Davidson; Dominick Welch, St. Bonaventure; Jalen Adaway, St. Bonaventure
Thatch has always been a fantastic rebounder and strong defender but he locked down this award with the best scoring stretch of his career, 14.6 ppg over SLU’s final seven games, including a career-high 21 points in a tight win over Rhode Island.
Sharpshooter of the Year: Foster Loyer, Davidson – 12 votes
Rich Kelly, UMass – 6
Micheal Jones, Davidson – 4
Gibson Jimerson, SLU – 3
1 vote each: Hyunjung Lee, Davidson; Vince Williams Jr, VCU; DaRon Holmes II, Dayton; DeVon Cooper, George Mason
Loyer was lights out from three this year, at 45% despite a sizable 6.0 attempts per game. But his most impressive accomplishment came at the line, where he led the nation in free throw % (93.5%).
Super Senior: Grant Golden, Richmond – 7.25 votes
Jacob Gilyard, Richmond – 5.25
Chuba Ohams, Fordham – 3
Kyle Lofton, St. Bonaventure – 3
Luka Brajkovic, Davidson – 2
Vince Williams Jr, VCU – 2
Osun Osunniyi, St. Bonaventure – 2
1 vote each: DeVon Cooper, George Mason; Jalen Adaway, St. Bonaventure; D’Shawn Schwartz, George Mason
0.25 vote each: Nick Sherod, Richmond; Nathan Cayo, Richmond

As the oldest team in college basketball, it’s no surprise that Richmond’s top two seniors split the vote for this award. Golden finished above both 12.0 ppg (14.4) and 6.0 rpg (6.3) for the fifth time in his career, an oddity of college basketball longevity.
