9. Iowa Hawkeyes

Defense wins championships? Please. There are not many teams that can keep up with the Iowa Hawkeyes’ firepower on the offensive end, making them a legitimate title threat this year.

Iowa is one of the five best offensive teams in the nation, averaging 83.8 points per game. They proved how much skill they have on that end throughout the Big Ten Tournament, scoring at least 75 points in every game, including a season-high 112 points in the Second Round against Northwestern.

Keegan Murray differs from Luka Garza because the former is known in college basketball circles, but doesn’t have the same recognition Garza did throughout last season. But he has an impressive game, averaging 23.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. He’s the kind of player capable of taking over a March Madness game, and as many already known, Jordan Bohannon is the kind of player who can come up with a clutch shot.

Iowa has a manageable path through the first couple of rounds of the NCAA Tournament. After facing bid thief Richmond in the First Round, the 5-seed would face either Providence or South Dakota State in the weekend game. The bottom half of their region doesn’t seem that strong either – the path to glory is there for the Hawkeyes.
