NCAA Tournament 2022: 5 biggest storylines from 1st weekend games
By Bryan Mauro
What a first weekend of the 2021-2022 NCAA Tournament. There are a ton of things to talk about and focus on and over the next four days, they will all be discussed by nearly every sports outlet and channel adnaseum. There are also some things that won’t be talked about as much they should be. They do not involve Coach K potentially coaching his last game this week as the coach at Duke. They may involve some mid-majors and some lower seeds to advance to the tournament.
Now that everyone’s brackets are on life support or at the very least close to it. We are all going to have four weeks to stew over the picks we all had at one point in our bracket before we got a change of heart and changed it.
This tournament seems like the most chaos ever but, this happens every year and it is what makes the tournament awesome and the best sporting event on the sports calendar. We are only halfway done, and I am only speaking for myself, but I am going to use this week to analyze every matchup and watch the sweet 16 intently.
Into the storylines, there are a lot of things we could talk about and I could do a top 50 storylines from the first week and it would fill a ton of time. I think that is to many, there were only 5 key storylines in the entire first weekend of the tournament. These 5 were the things that we will all be talking about heading into the second weekend and the offseason. These were the 5 biggest storylines of the first weekend in no order.
