Five-star class of 2022 NCAA Basketball prospect Anthony Black is reportedly set to make a decision soon, early next week. His recruitment has been one of the slow-moving in recent memory, partly due to him dealing with eligibility issues after moving high school teams.

It’s also been quiet when it comes to knowing which specific programs have been in the mix. But the rumors and speculation have run rampant in the past couple of months, with different teams and even the G League itself being involved. But now that there are some consensus views as to who truly is in the mix, we can look at how Black would fit with each of them, looking at the pros and cons.

NBA G League

Pros – Able to get early money and exposure

The G League Ignite team has been the way for several five-star prospects from the past couple of years, most notably, Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green and Jonathan Kuminga of the Golden State Warriors. It allows players to focus solely on their development as a pro and can get a decent paycheck as well. And since the team is struggling to get any class of 2022 stars to join them, Black could come in and get plenty of attention and showcase his skills without having to share the ball with other five-star prospects.

Cons – Is college the better option?

Black is a five-star recruit but not a “sure thing”. He’s ranked around the 20 range and not a top-5 recruit overall. There’s a chance that he isn’t even a “one and done” prospect and if he isn’t ready, could set his career back in a big way and wouldn’t be able to go back to college.
