Houston Cougars

The Cougars have a ton of quality guards set to return for next season, along with a top-10 incoming freshman recruit in Jarace Walker. The only position of question at the moment is at center, as both Josh Carlton and Fabian White are set to leave after starting all season. That leaves backup Reggie Chaney as the biggest player on the roster at 6’8 and 230 pounds.

Broome would be able to easily slide in at the five-spot and give them not only a needed defensive anchor but also someone capable of producing offensively inside as well. He’d be an upgrade over Carlton in that department and make Houston, in my opinion, the team to beat for the 2022-23 NCAA Basketball season.

Kansas Jayhawks

After going through ups and downs in the last couple of years, big man David McCormack played his best basketball in the Final Four, leading the Jayhawks to a national title. He’ll likely be gone this offseason, leaving the position open to potentially D-II transfer Cam Martin, or incoming freshmen, Ernest Udeh, Jr. and Zuby Ejiofor.

Broome would be a proven option that Kansas can slide in without any issues and playing for the reigning national champions can provide as high a profile for a player as possible. The one concern here is that the program could potentially be getting punished by the NCAA after a years-long probe into alleged improper recruiting issues. If there’s a postseason ban coming, that would affect their ability to get top-tier transfers like Broome so the program should hope for a conclusion sometime this offseason.
