TCU Horned Frogs

There’s a lot to like about a potential pairing between the Frogs and Lofton. They’re another program in the state of Texas and are coming off a trip to the NCAA Tournament. And with the possibility that Mike Miles is coming back for another year, TCU could return just about everyone.

Something else to consider is that head coach Jamie Dixon was also the coach of the U19 USA Team that won. Even with bigger names on that roster, it was clear that Coach Dixon had plenty of trust in Lofton and things clearly went well. So maybe they could reunite in the Big 12 and add to an already talented roster?

Another local option that needs a big man is the Red Raiders, who’ll be losing Marcus Santos-Silva and Bryson Williams in the frontcourt. At the center position, that would leave Daniel Batcho to get minutes, who is a solid defender but doesn’t provide much offensively.

Lofton would be a tremendous option for them at center and he and forward Kevin Obanor would be a great frontcourt duo, with plenty of spacing on offense. And as far as how he would fit in the “no middles” defense, Lofton moves better than some would think and wouldn’t be a negative on that end. With an open spot at the five, Texas Tech has plenty of playing time to offer for the talented big man.
