When it comes to the NCAA Basketball transfers, there are countless examples of players joining new teams and struggling, whether when it comes to production or winning fewer games. One player where that doesn’t fit is Kendric Davis, who started out his college career at TCU.

As a freshman, Davis came primarily off the bench to produce 6.3 ppg and 2.0 apg in 17 mpg. Looking for a bigger role elsewhere, the 5’11 guard went to SMU, which proved to be a great decision. As a sophomore, Davis averaged 14.2 ppg, 4.1 rpg, and 6.7 apg, good for first in the American Athletic Conference.

Davis continued to be one of the best stat producers in NCAA Basketball, taking his scoring average up to 19.0 ppg, good for No. 1 in the AAC, along with 7.6 apg, also good for the conference lead. And those numbers remained as high this past year at 19.4 ppg, although his assist rate went down towards 4.4 apg as Davis became more of a scorer.

The Cincinnati Bearcats suffered e wrath of Davis more than anyone, as they gave up career-highs of 14 assists and 35 points in different games in the 2020-21 season. The star Mustang was awarded AAC Player of the Year this past season and led the team to an NIT appearance, scoring 30 points in a loss to Washington State in what has turned out to be the last game of his SMU career.

Davis has entered both the portal and the NBA Draft but as he’s not a projected draft pick, it’s likely that he’ll be back in NCAA Basketball for his 5th and final year. There will be many teams that could use his services but which ones have the best chance to land him? Here are 10 that come to mind.
