4. Iowa Hawkeyes

Iowa is a surprise inclusion in terms of the spread-out nature of Aimaq’s final cut list of schools. Having no direct ties to the program does not help the case for Iowa either. However, what makes the Hawkeyes an attractive program may set them apart from the other schools.

Iowa is in the Big 10, which happens to be the conference that is notoriously famous for putting out good big men [college-wise]. Aimaq can look at the success of former Iowa big man Luka Garza and what he did under Head Coach Fran McCaffery. Even more recently it is arguable the best player in all of NCAA Basketball was Iowa’s big man Keegan Murray. Two success stories in a conference dominated by the frontcourt position.

Being sold that he will be the focal point of a Hawkeyes offense could land Aimaq in Iowa City. Coach McCaffery usually surrounds his big man with capable outside shooters and established guard play. Aimaq can know coming in he will have a team built around him. The preseason hype combined with the way the NIL is booming right now will have Coach McCaffery with another star.
