In case you missed it (ICYMI) The Kansas Jayhawks were crowned as the National Champions on Apr. 4, 2021, after a 72-69 victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels. Their victory not only capped off an exciting March Madness but an equally exciting 2021-22 NCAA Men’s Basketball season.

Similar to past years, just because the season has concluded, that does not mean the action stops in the NCAA. With the transfer portal being wide open, players taking multiple approaches to the NBA Draft, and some high school recruits finally making their decision on who to commit to, it is excusable if you missed a few things while taking a breather from NCAA basketball in order to show up to your job with a night of decent sleep or to spend time with your family.

Even if such responsibilities have you falling behind with the ongoings of Big Ten Basketball, you probably are still aware that Jaden Ivey, Johnny Davis, Keegan Murray, EJ Liddel, and Bryce McGowens have declared for the NBA Draft, but look no further in order to get caught up on the other important Big Ten activity dating back to one week after the nets were cut down in New Orleans. Just in case you missed it.

Julius Marble is transferring

It is not entirely surprising that the 6’9 forward would look for a more promising opportunity after a season of averaging four field goals per game. The 4.3 points per game career scorer spent the majority of his 14-plus minutes coming off the bench for Marcus Bingham and Joey Hauser as Marble started just four games.

In a vacuum, the absence of Marble in a Spartans’ uniform for the 2022-23 season is not problematic for Head Coach Tom Izzo, it is only when the declarations to the NBA Draft by Marcus Bingham and Gabe Brown are taken into consideration that Marble’s departure is of significance.
