NCAA Basketball: Top 15 pending decisions for 2022 NBA Draft
13. Christian Braun – Kansas Jayhawks
2021-22 stats: 14.1 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.8 apg
The 6’6 wing has taken a jump in each of the last couple of years, being the second-best player on the national championship-winning Jayhawks team. Braun was a double-figure scorer in 35 of 40 games, including five with at least 20 points. One of them was a career-high 31 points in a win over St. John’s.
Braun also was fairly efficient as well, making just under 50% of his total shots and 39% from three-point range, also improvements from the previous year. He also came through in the final game against North Carolina, going for 12 points and 12 rebounds in the win.
There’s an argument to be made that Braun’s stock is the highest it’ll go, projected to be around the 25-40 range in the NBA Draft. He has the size and now the shooting ability to be one of those “3 and D” wings at the next level and can create his own offense.
There’s also a chance that his role will be undercut a bit thanks to incoming five-star freshmen wings, Gradey Dick and MJ Rice. Kansas can afford to lose Braun due to who’s coming in but considering how much he has improved over the years, imagine what a senior version of him would be?
