Class of 2023 prospect Curtis Williams Jr. is down to a final list of six options, with Notre Dame Basketball among one of them.

Notre Dame Basketball got some good news earlier this week when Curtis Williams Jr. who is one of the top players in the 2023 class announced his top six choices for schools he is still considering. The Irish made the cut and were included in his top 6 schools at the moment.

Those six schools are Seton Hall, Alabama, Xavier, Florida State, Tennessee State, and Notre Dame. This battle will not be easy for Mike Brey and the rest of the coaching staff, but it is nice to see that they have worked hard to get into Williams Jr. top six schools.

Williams Jr. is a 6-5 small forward who is ranked as the 45th best player in the 2023 class according to 247 sports. Watching film on him it is pretty easy to see why 247 sports, and a lot of programs would want this Michigan native on their respected roster. The 2023 recruit in Williams Jr. can create his shot from anywhere on the court, has impressive court vision, and just seems to be a smart basketball player on both ends of the floor.

Not sure Notre Dame is the leader in the clubhouse at the moment as they have been the latest among the top six to offer, but there is time to change that in his recruiting process overall for the Irish. What Notre Dame can offer that maybe others cannot is playing time early on right away. Also, playing at Notre Dame would make it easier for family members and friends to make the three-hour trip down to South Bend if he is looking to stay closer to home.

After the 2022-2023 season, there will be no more Dane Goodwin, Cormac Ryan, Trey Wertz, and graduate transfer Marcus Hammond for Notre Dame. The highest recruit in the Brey era in JJ Starling could be gone as well if he really has a great freshman season like Blake Wesley did this past year. The Irish will still have the local South Bend native in J.R. Konieczny around who this staff is really high on, but will still need to reload, and minutes will be there for the taking in 2023-2024.

Notre Dame was able to land a top 25 recruiting class in 2022 with the additions of guard JJ Starling, and two forwards in Dom Campbell, and Ven-Allen Lubin.

The Irish have been busy in the 2023 class linking them to names like Aden Holloway, Xavier Booker, JP Estrella, and obviously Williams Jr. as well among others. If you enjoy Notre Dame basketball you have to be pleased to see that this coaching staff is in it with these big-time prospects across the country.

Adding a top recruit like Williams Jr. could help build another strong class for Notre Dame. Let’s see if this Irish coaching staff can finish and get a few of them to suit up in blue and gold for the next few seasons
