After landing the top-ranked recruiting class during the previous cycle, Duke Basketball is set to add yet another top recruiting class in 2023.

If you have kept up with college basketball recruiting over the past calendar year, then you will likely know that once again, Duke Basketball is set to bring one of the nation’s top collections of prep talent to Durham for the 2022-23 season.

The Blue Devils first top-ranked class since 2018 according to the 247Sports Team Rankings, Duke and new head coach Jon Scheyer are set to bring in a total six commits in their 2022 class, four of which are rated as five-star prospects. A loaded group overall, three of those four five-stars are also considered as Top 5 players nationally, a group that includes the 2022 class’ No. 1 overall player in 7-foot-1 center Dereck Lively II, versatile wing Dariq Whitehead, and another dominant frontcourt piece in Kyle Filipowski.

An impressive group altogether for the Blue Devils, Duke’s 2022 class has continued to be the talk of the college basketball recruiting scene for the last year, and rightfully so. However, looking ahead, the Blue Devils’ 2023 class is already shaping up to be just as good, if not better, than Duke’s 2022 class.

Currently ranked No. 1 in the country, Duke’s 2023 class currently holds a total of five commitments, three more than North Carolina whose class ranks No. 2 nationally at the moment. Of those five commits as well, four are five-star prospects, with the fifth in guard Jared McCain as a highly-rated four-star who is rated as the No. 26 overall player in the country.

While Duke’s 2023 class does not necessarily feature three Top 5 players as the 2022 class does, the Blue Devils do however have a commit in the conversation for the nation’s top overall player in forward Mackenzie Mgbako, a truly elite player on the wing at 6-foot-8. Joining Mgbako as well are two elite guards in Caleb Foster and Tyrese Proctor, as well as a dominant frontcourt piece in Sean Stewart.

Next. How high are expectations for Scheyer in year one?. dark

Already a phenomenal class altogether, could Duke Basketball’s 2023 class potentially get even better? Time will certainly tell, but what is known however is that the Blue Devils already appear set for the top-ranked recruiting class once again in 2023.
