Auburn Tigers

The Tigers were an overall average shooting team last season and their best three-point maker (Jabari Smith), is off to the NBA. That leaves backup guard Zep Jasper as the lone shooter of over 33% from deep. And with Devan Cambridge off to Arizona State, that opens up some room for another wing to join Allen Flanigan, who is a good shooter historically but made just 21% last season as he recovered from a preseason knee injury.

Incoming center transfer Johni Broome doesn’t spread the floor and incoming five-star power forward Yohan Traore isn’t projected to be much of one in the frontcourt. And while guards KD Johnson and Wendell Green take a combined 10 3PT shots a game, they’re a combined 30% from deep. The Tigers are a preseason top-15 team for next year and could use another shooter and there’s 15 mpg available in the frontcourt for someone like Baker to have a specific impact.

Gonzaga Bulldogs

The Bulldogs were in the top-30 nationally in three-pointers last season, thanks to Rasir Bolton (47%) and Chet Holmgren (39%) leading the way. Both are gone, as well as starting point guard Andrew Nembhard. And if starting wing and sharpshooter Julian Strawther remains in the NBA Draft, that makes the top-4 shooters off the roster.

It also leaves plenty of open room on the wings. Baker could get plenty of playing time with the Bulldogs and have a sizeable role for a program that has made and advanced in the NCAA Tournament even more consistently than Duke. And with not many pure shooters currently on the roster, Gonzaga could use his services as well.
