What Ramey Brings to Arizona

With Ramey’s addition, Arizona continues to fill the biggest hole on the roster. The previous addition of Henderson helped solidify the backcourt and add another scoring threat, but Ramey’s inclusion gives them not just another option in the offense, but as viable depth at the point. Kriisa developed into quite the star for Arizona last season, but having another option at the point is an excellent development.

With the Wildcats, Ramey doesn’t necessarily need to be in the starting lineup, but that’s the kind of contribution he’ll have on this team. He’s somebody we can expect to plug into this fast-paced offense and produce double-digit points per game and a great secondary option behind Tubelis. Ramey is also an above-average defender who takes care of the basketball and gives Arizona a much-needed secondary option to run the point when Kriisa is resting or in foul trouble.

The Wildcats could’ve depended on some of last year’s role players to take steps forward, but Ramey’s addition really solidifies this roster as a whole. He’s succeeded previously in fast-paced offenses under Shaka Smart and offer a scoring threat that Arizona did not have a few days ago. With Tubelis and Ballo looking like strong pieces in the frontcourt, Ramey and Kriisa become the strength of the backcourt.
