Kansas State

There will be various dominoes falling in realignment in the coming months, and we’re proceeding in this article as if the Pac-12 absolutely has a future. There have already been rumblings that Kansas could depart the conference, perhaps for the Big Ten or Big East, which would leave rival Kansas State in an interesting position. With the potential for the Big 12 to crumble, the Pac-12 actually seems like a solid landing spot for the Wildcats.

The last few years have been rough, but the basketball program at Kansas State has a very solid history. New head coach Jerome Tang might have the tools to turn things around, while this program was just in the Elite Eight just four seasons ago. Kansas State certainly wouldn’t be the most exciting Big 12 school to add, but there’s reason to believe things could go swimmingly again for the Wildcats in a new conference.

The Big 12 is a really tough basketball conference and any of those teams would upgrade the Pac-12, especially a Pac-12 without those two teams from Los Angeles. Kansas State doesn’t have the wow factor that someone like Baylor or Kansas has, but if the Big 12 loses Kansas, then you shouldn’t expect to see Kansas State sit idly by.
