Skyelar Potter – Morehead State and Wright State

2021-22 stats: 10.4 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.7 apg

OVC Player of the Year Johni Broome was the star of Morehead State but Potter tied for second on the team in scoring. The 6’3 shooting guard had 18 double-digit scoring games, including a season-high 20 against Kansas City. His four games of 10+ rebounds shows he can play bigger than his size.

Potter isn’t the greatest shooter in the world with a 42% career field goal percentage but has made 35% from three-point range. He’s a true shooting guard with 1-2 levels of eligibility that can provide some stability at the two-spot and can give the team 15-20 minutes off the bench if need be.

Ryan Myers – Iona Gaels

2021-22 stats: 5.4 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 1.0 apg

The 6’1 guard was a potential breakout candidate last season but that was squashed once the team brought in transfers, Tyson Jolly and Elijah Joiner. Still. Myers was an impact player off the bench when he did get on the court, including 14 points against the Kansas Jayhawks of all teams.

Is Myers a good candidate to go from the bench in the MAAC to the ACC? It would be interesting to see a player of Rick Pitino’s go to the Cardinals of all teams but he could be someone that can get 10 mpg off the bench as a backup to Ellis at point.
